The Juniper MX104 Universal Routing Platform is a compact, temperature-hardened chassis designed for space and power-constrained enterprise edge and service provider deployments. It delivers 80Gbps of wire-speed throughput, supported by Junos OS and the programmable Trio chipset, which bring the advanced routing, security, and service capabilities of the larger MX Series to this form factor.

Its modular design provides exceptional flexibility, featuring 4 fixed 10GbE ports and 4 Modular Interface Card (MIC) slots, enabling scalable connectivity from 80x 1GbE to 8x 10GbE ports. Carrier-grade high availability is ensured through a redundant control plane, hot-swappable power supplies, and fan trays, while its robust environmental specs (-40°C to 65°C operating temperature) make it ideal for harsh environments like wiring closets. Security is comprehensive, featuring a built-in firewall, hardware-assisted IPSec VPN, and FIPS 140-2 Level 1 validation for rigorous government and enterprise standards
